Hello Cyberworld.
It has come to my attention this morning that we have not be in communication with the outside world whilst in the earth year 2009, so this blog is intended to rectify that situation whilst also letting anyone that is slightly interested know of our whereabouts and goings-on.
Firstly, Drawings would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year, we do hope you had fun over the festive season? I spent it in bed making beats whilst suffering from the flu.
We have lots of new songs written, which are currently being arranged and re-arranged in to formats we are happy with for the time being. The thing with this band is that we probably won't play a song the same twice, even if it's just a few notes here and there, we like to change things up to keep it fresh, it can get hella boring playing the same thing over and over.
Here's a list of songs we have so far:
Sick To My Heart
Friends
Apoc.
Sore Thumb
SWiPE
6224
Tender
Catch The Rain
Wallpaper
The Long Road Out Of Hell
We also have a rather exciting project forming. Aside from the songs listed above we are also midway through writing a series of seven songs, one relating to each of the seven deadly sins.
We currently have:
Lust
Wrath
Envy
Pride
Hopefully we should get the other three (Gluttony, Greed and Sloth) finished over the next few days. The idea is that they will serve a purpose which might be of interest to you, however, more on that when it's arranged, I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!
We are going to be putting demos of songs up for you to listen to starting very shortly, I'll let you know more on that a.s.a.p. however let it be known now, each song will be up for one day and one day only, then that recording will never be heard again!
- The songs were played completely live (something which pretty much no bands ever do nowadays) and are completely free from auto-tune (the tuning device almost EVERY band on the planet uses to make their singer in tune) and we think they sound awesome, live recordings have so much more feel and energy to them as they actually record a performance; a moment in time collectively shared by the band, rather than some notes and beats that have been shifted into time and tune by the dude in the engineer's chair!
Anyway, take care - if you're free on January 31st, come on down to Lennons in Southampton - it's going to be totally awesome!
Matt
